Sarah and Kyle had a gorgeous country wedding with the ceremony in Panna Maria at the Oldest Polish Roman Catholic Church in the U.S. These two were so in love and adorable on their wedding day I couldn’t stop taking thier picture! Sarah looked absolutly divine.. Kyle and Sarah were set up by a few of their friends and I would say it was definitly a match made in heaven. The simple and elegant lace dress was from Liv and Love Bridal. Their is just something about these weddings when you get to watch the whole town celebrate the love of two people. I could do it always and forever!
Engagement sessions are such a great way to get to know each other, it really helps me see how my couples interact and love on each other, because lets face it, every couple is different. My favorite engagement sessions are the ones where we go explore some place beautiful which is exactly what Ana and Brandon and I got to do for their river engagement session. The Cibolo Nature Center is so beautiful with tall grass and gorgeous river stream running through it with big beautiful giant trees. Small touches like a floral crown or small bouquet can really bring a session together. We went above and beyond with Ana and Brandons session and decided to add a smoke bomb! I just LOVE working with the out of ordinary and the smoke bombs were so much fun I have added them as an upgrade to weddings or engagement sessions!
Ever wonder what the heck you should wear to a session? I am happy to help and have put together a helpful pinterest board for my clients to assist in coordinating outfits and choosing a great style. When you look good, you feel good and then the photos look good so I’m always here to help with any questions!
Some things to bring: Plan to bring comfortable shoes even if its just a pair of flip flops or flats to get you from one point to the another, not all session locations have easy access and trails (Which makes them all that more amazing in my opinion!)
A towel or small sheet or pillow case, or even better a gorgeous quilt to sit on. (I have one I can provide too)
It’s Texas so some OFF or mosquito repellent is always a good item to have, although I try to remember I sometimes forget to bring it too!
Ultimately, just bringing a good attitude and gorgeous smiles is all you need to get some amazing engagement photos!
I am still swooning over the bridals from Jessica’s bridal session. Lets just take a minute to drool over this gorgeous off the shoulder lace dress! These are always the hardest sessions because I have sit on the images. I can’t share them even when I am happy dancing in delight about them!! So finally… they are here to share!
Why even do a bridal session you ask?
Well, its a fabulous way to find out exactly what works and what what won’t for your wedding day. Sometimes during the session you realize your hair may fall in way you didn’t expect. The lipstick you chose isn’t quite the shade you thought it would be. The dress need to be hemmed a bit or tucked in here and there.
You can shake things up a bit and do things a little different from your wedding day. Jessica chose to wear this insanely gorgeous floral crown from Reiley and Rose Floral Design. I am totally obsessed with it. For her wedding day she chose a sweet pearl and jewel hair piece.
I always recommend to not skimp on your bouquet for your bridals either, florals really help bringing it all together for your session and truly make it look polished and stunning! Plus a gorgeous bouquet really helps with the pesky what do I do with my hands thoughts running through every brides mind! I have giant heart eyes for the large silver dollar eucalyptus Reiley and Rose used for this set!
Where should you do your bridal session? I always suggest somewhere other then your venue, UNLESS you think you will have zero time for them on your wedding day. (I will always take a few on the day of as long as time permits.)
Variety is the spice of life! I say pick a venue you love but didn’t book. A family property with gorgeous views (Like Jessica did). Greenhouse are a beautiful backdrop or a pretty park. There are lots of urban spaces in San Antonio and Austin, even New Braunfels if you aren’t looking for fields and flowers. Really the sky is the limit (and maybe somewhere your dress won’t get too dirty, but there are ways around that!)
Also, if you have the time take a look at Jessica and Stephens St. Hedwig wedding here.
Lace, boots and Aggie rings are just some of the things that make up a perfectly sweet country wedding! St Hedwig has one of the prettiest Catholic churches around and it was the most gorgeous backdrop for Jessica and Stephens ceremony. These two have the biggest hearts and it was so much fun watching their friends and family celebrate their love! I just loved Jessicas lace off the shoulder dress! The florals from Reiley and Rose florals were oh so gorgeous.
I am so in love with this gorgeous mid day wedding at Hidden Falls, Rimi’s Ridge. Nothing beats getting married in front of a waterfall! Hailey and Matt met in Sicily and were both originally from Texas, after a while they both ended up in Austin, Matt asked Hailey to marry him at Zilker park and the rest is history! Their love is so evident and just shines as bright as the sun! The Bloom Bar did their amazing florals and they looked stunning against the waterfall backdrop. I love the understated all white flowers with just a touch of green, they brought such elegance.
